Ferrari's Charles Leclerc came out on top in both of Friday's practice sessions at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, with Max Verstappen and Red Bull struggling with a lack of pace and uncharacteristic mistakes from the Dutchman.
A dominant Ferrari performance throughout Friday saw both Leclerc and team-mate Carlos Sainz largely outperforming Red Bull's Verstappen and Sergio Perez.
Verstappen seemed uncomfortable through Turns 11 and 12 throughout Friday's two practice sessions, dramatically running off into the gravel twice at the end of FP1, and once during FP2, calling his car 'a catastrophe'.
McLaren, fresh from a comprehensive victory over Red Bull at the Miami GP, also looked quick, with Oscar Piastri finishing as high as second in FP2, and Lando Norris on an extremely fast lap before diving into the pits.
Mercedes' upgraded W15 seemed to provide George Russell and Lewis Hamilton with an extra confidence, and they will be hoping to take two strong practice performances into Saturday.
